This year, we are excited to welcome Courtney MacLean, NCIDQ, hospitality designer and founder of The Society, as well as the current NEWH chapter president. She will share insights into her career path and experiences in this specialized field. Additionally, Matt Thompson (IIDA NPC President) will discuss current advocacy efforts in Washington, Ruby Thorp, CHID, CID (CA), NCIDQ, WELL AP will provide key information on the NCIDQ exam, and Brookelyn Robertson will share her expertise in supporting commercial interiors through her work at Williams Sonoma. Join the Pacific Northwest Chapter for its 7th installment of the Emerging Designers Event!
Connecting Industry professionals with students, recent graduates, and emerging designers. This event is dedicated to fostering in-person collaboration, mentorship, and learning opportunities for design students, recent graduates, and Emerging Designers. Attendees will receive feedback from industry professionals, including portfolio reviews, resume critiques, and advice on navigating the design job market. The goal is to empower Emerging Designers with the tools and knowledge needed for career advancement in this dynamic and evolving industry. *BONUS: Panel discussion featuring industry professionals. May 08 - IIDA PSCC Professional Development Workshop

Join the PSCC (Puget Sound Campus Center) Student Council and take advantage of this opportunity to grow as a designer and make connections! The PSCC Professional Development Workshop aims to connect professionals with aspiring interior designers, sharing their insights and experiences.
Students will be paired with two different mentors for one-on-one virtual conversations of approximately 30 minutes each. Conversation topics are chosen by students, and can include direct feedback on their portfolio, projects, resume, or any specific questions about the industry such as “What advice would you give a designer entering the field?” or “What are your most and least favorite things about this career”. In addition to the networking sessions, students will hear a presentation from a working professional about a topic intended to prepare students for entering the design industry.
